Proposed Project Overview

The Study Butte Water Supply Corporation (SBWSC or WSC) is proposing to construct water system improvements through the DWSRF program to increase the reliability and pressure in its water system as well as reduce water loss. These improvements include replacement of existing water lines that are undersized and prone to leaks. The projects will also include rehabilitation of two of the WSC's existing clearwells and replacements and upgrades to the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to improve reliability of the supply and storage facilities.

Water Line Replacement - Approximately 7,550 feet of existing water line to be replaced with new PVC water line. Alternatives include additional water line replacements (for environmental clearance purposes), HDPE pipe material and smaller line diameters.

Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) Upgrades - Upgrade and replace outdated components to the SCADA system to the central and remote units. Alternatives include attempting to improve the current system and a "no-action" alternative.

Clearwells Rehabilitation - Rehabilitation of two 35,000 gallon clearwells at the water plant, including the replacement of the existing coating system and other miscellaneous repairs. The primary alternative included replacing the two clearwells.
