Maintenance Worker
Study Butte Water Supply Corporation is a rural water system located in southwest Texas near Big Bend National Park. This is an at-will position responsible for maintenance, operation and repair of the distribution system.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Conducts monthly meter readings.

Delivers Member Notices, Connects and Disconnects water services as requested by Plant or Office Manager.

Assists the Distribution Operator in the inspection, maintenance and repair of water mains and lines, and RO wastewater discharge system.

Assists the Plant Manager in the RO plant and well sites as needed.

Assists in installing or replacing meters; and locating and repairing leaks in water lines.

Assists in collecting water samples from wells and distribution system if needed.

Assists in flushing water lines and fire hydrants.

Conducts chlorine residual tests if needed.

Provides traffic control at work sites to ensure a safe working environment.

Maintains and repairs fences, utility buildings, equipment such as mowers and weed eaters, and small electronics.

Mows, weeds, cleans and maintains well sites and/or RO wastewater treatment plant site.

Operates, inspects, cleans and maintains vehicles and heavy equipment.

Responds to emergency service calls as required; remains on call after hours as required. May be required to work overtime with little or no notice as needed.

May use a SCADA system to monitor and control the distribution system and plant operation if needed.

May Operate a computer utilizing software programs such as word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

Follows Employee Handbook Policies, including but not limited to: Attendance and Dress Code policies.

Performs other duties as assigned by General/Plant Manager, Office Manager or Board Members.
Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED
-
TCEQ Class D Groundwater License preferred

Valid Texas Driver’s License
